The defects of concave and convex ripples on the surface of aluminum profiles, based on our long-term experience, are caused by the design error of the aluminum profile in the length ratio or cavity size of the extrusion die, which leads to the imbalance of the flow velocity ratio during extrusion production. The aluminum profile manufacturer provides you with the following specific answers:
1. There are obstacles and flow promoting angles in work.
2. The drop ratio of the upper and lower working belts of the extrusion die exceeds the standard.
3. The working belts of the upper and lower molds of the extrusion die are not parallel and have a mouthpiece.
4. The upper mold resistance (flow divider) table in the extrusion mold cavity is too high to block the discharge or drainage groove (size, depth, position) of the working belt.
5. There are too few or even no empty knives on the outer side of the working belt of the extrusion mold (the electric spark is not properly set) or too large (the working belt is cracked and deformed due to lack of support).
6. New or repaired extrusion molds may not have a smooth surface due to uneven polishing of the work strip with coarse sand.
7. There is oil stains on the work belt.
It can be seen that the main cause of this defect lies in the extrusion mold. To ensure the quality of the extrusion mold and eliminate artificial mold processing defects, the specific measures are as follows:
1. If the waves are severe, they can be treated by repairing, modifying, or returning the mold.
2. If there are waves when the new or repaired mold starts to extrude, the aluminum profile features a rod that can be slowly extruded at low temperature, and can be paused for several times to re extrude. This way, the concave areas of the working zone will be filled out, and sometimes the waves will disappear naturally.
3. The slight wave in the aluminum profile process is treated by increasing the traction force and stretching amount. It is also possible to adjust the deviation between the cylinder and the center of the mold surface to affect the flow rate by changing the amount of aluminum flowing into the mold cavity within the cylinder (not recommended)
4. The support pad is reasonable and the discharge is smooth.
5. Waves are generated around 1m from the tail end to adjust the thickness and reduce the extrusion speed. Or use it as a clamp for stretching.
6. During the production process of aluminum materials, if scratches are found due to the small size of the mold blade or the flow rate of the aluminum profile, oil quenching lubrication can be applied to the working belt of the mold on the smaller side and the mold pad on the friction pad side for adjustment. At the same time, attention should be paid to checking the surface condition of the friction surface.
